tonight we spent a very exciting 3 hours at the ER. poor baby couldn't breathe when he woke up from his nap at 5. he was wheezing, etc. i called the nurse line, and then i attempted to suction his nose with no results. so we took him in. turns out it was a lot of snot built up, so they suctioned him. after that his breathing went from over 60 breaths a minute to around 30. big improvement. and he got to wear a gorgeous gown--the cell phone pics below don't quite do it justice. while he looked like a girl in his gown, they did say he was the cutest baby they've ever had in the ER. guess that's a compliment. and one nurse even tried to steal him because of his blue eyes. anyway, we now get to suction before and after every feeding. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun! at least he's ok with no rsv or flu.
